Weddings are a joyous occasion, an event where two hearts unite and embark on a lifelong journey filled with love and companionship. As you, the bride, prepare for this significant milestone, one of your primary decisions will be choosing between an indoor and an outdoor wedding.
Both options have their unique features and potential challenges. Thus, it's key to analyze the pros and cons of each to make an informed decision that will best reflect your vision for your special day.
We understand that this decision can be overwhelming, especially when you're inundated with a myriad of other wedding-related decisions. Therefore, we've compiled a comprehensive comparison of outdoor and indoor weddings. We'll delve into factors such as weather considerations, venue selection, décor possibilities, and overall atmosphere.
Let's begin this exploration, keeping in mind that whichever you choose, the day will be beautiful because it's a celebration of your love and commitment.
"Outdoor weddings are great because the sky is your ceiling and the flowers are your decor."
- Unknown
Outdoor weddings unfailingly provide a charm and elegance that is hard to match. They offer a unique set of advantages that can cater to various tastes and preferences. Let's delve into the major pros of having an outdoor wedding:
40% of weddings take place outdoors
Perhaps the most significant advantage of outdoor weddings is the natural beauty served as a backdrop. Whether you choose a beach, a garden, a farm, or any other outdoor location, nature provides an inherently beautiful setting. The scenery and landscape can also limit the amount of additional decoration needed, potentially reducing costs.
Photographs snapped at outdoor weddings often turn out stunningly. The natural light aids professional photographers in capturing beautiful, high-quality images that serve as a lifelong memory of your special day.
Outdoor venues generally offer more space than indoor venues. This spaciousness can accommodate larger guest lists comfortably, and it also provides kids with a safe area to play.
Outdoor weddings tend to have a less formal, more relaxed atmosphere. This can make your guests feel more at ease and encourage them to enjoy the celebration fully.
Now that we've examined the advantages of outdoor weddings, it's only fair to highlight the potential downsides. Here are some cons to consider:
Weather is an unpredictable factor that can significantly impact an outdoor wedding. A sudden downpour, high winds, or a heatwave can disrupt your plans. It's essential to have a backup plan in place in case of adverse weather conditions.
Ensuring accessibility and comfort for all guests can be a challenge at outdoor venues. Think about restroom facilities, parking, and making the site accessible for elders or people with mobility issues.
Outdoor venues may not offer the same level of privacy as indoor venues. Noise from traffic, nearby events, or even nature (such as birds or insects) can interrupt your ceremony or reception.
Ultimately, the decision between an outdoor and indoor wedding depends on your personal preferences, style, and comfort level. It's important to weigh the pros and cons of each option and consider what is most important to you on your big day.
Indoor weddings can be more intimate and romantic, especially if you choose a smaller venue.

When planning an outdoor wedding, unpredictable weather can pose a significant challenge. However, there are several strategies brides can employ to prepare for any weather-related surprises that may come their way.
Firstly, it's crucial to have a backup plan. This could be an indoor venue on the wedding site, a tent, or a secondary location in case of severe weather. This doesn't mean you have to book two venues. It might be as simple as having a plan to move your ceremony under a covered area at your venue, or having a tent on standby.
Secondly, keep an eye on the weather forecast. While it's impossible to predict the weather with 100% accuracy, especially far in advance, getting a general idea of what to expect can help in preparations. There are many apps and websites that provide long-term forecasts, which can be helpful in the planning stages.
Consider the typical weather patterns of the season and location of your wedding. If you’re planning a summer wedding in a location that’s known for its afternoon thunderstorms, schedule your ceremony accordingly to avoid the most likely times for inclement weather.
When planning an outdoor wedding, always think about the comfort of your guests. This can involve a range of considerations, depending on the weather. For example, providing warm blankets for a chilly day, or umbrellas for a rainy one. Fans, sunscreen, and bug spray can be critical for a hot, sunny day. Providing these amenities, whatever the weather, can go a long way towards keeping your guests comfortable and happy.
Finally, it may be worth considering wedding insurance. Some policies cover cancellations or rescheduling due to severe weather. It's an extra cost, but it could potentially save a lot in the event of an unforeseen weather issue.
In conclusion, while you cannot control the weather on your big day, proper planning and preparation can mitigate many of the risks associated with outdoor weddings. Remember, sometimes, a touch of rain or a gust of wind can make your ceremony even more memorable. The important thing is to embrace the day, whatever the weather.
Planning a wedding is an exciting endeavor with numerous decisions to make. One of the primary decisions is the venue - and this often boils down to whether the wedding should be indoors or outdoors. While many brides dream of an outdoor wedding, it's important to consider some potential setbacks. Here are some disadvantages of having an outdoor wedding:
One of the most significant drawbacks of an outdoor wedding is the unpredictability of the weather. Despite thorough planning and preparation, outdoor weddings are at the mercy of Mother Nature. Rain, wind, excessive heat, or cold can all disrupt your big day, causing discomfort for you and your guests.
Outdoor weddings often come with logistical challenges. For instance, you may need to rent additional items like tents, portable restrooms, and a portable kitchen for the caterers. Parking can also be a concern at some outdoor venues, and there may be restrictions on sound levels or the timing of the event.
When hosting an outdoor wedding, brides often have to deal with unwelcome guests in the form of bugs and insects. Depending on the season and location, mosquitoes, flies, and bees can be a nuisance. It's important to plan for pest control, which is an additional cost to consider.
Accessibility may be a con for outdoor weddings. Elderly guests or those with mobility issues may struggle with uneven terrain or lack of solid pathways. Additionally, outdoor venues may not have suitable facilities for those with special needs.
While the natural beauty of an outdoor venue can be a major draw, it can also limit your wedding decoration options. Certain decor items may be impractical or impossible to use outdoors. For instance, hanging items from the ceiling, using delicate materials that could be damaged by wind or rain, or even having certain types of table settings may not be feasible.
In conclusion, while outdoor weddings can be picturesque and unique, they do come with certain drawbacks. It's important for brides to consider these factors when deciding on the perfect venue for their big day.
Your wedding day is one of the most significant events in your life, and the decision between an indoor or outdoor wedding is a personal one. Each option comes with its own unique pros and cons, but ultimately, the choice should reflect your personal style, preference, and comfort.

Painting your house is not just a simple refresh with the first tin of paint you happen to pick up in the store; it’s much more than that. The colors you choose are a real reflection of your persona and taste and luckily, it’s a relatively cheap way to make a big impression. Instead of sticking to what is considered ‘safe’, why not unleash the inner you and go bold, go boho.
Boho, short for Bohemian, is the ‘in’ design trend which exudes that free-spirited, eclectic look.
It draws inspiration from different cultures, styles, and eras and often mixes natural materials, bold colors and a mix of patterns and textures. Color is critical to the boho look.
So-called ‘jewel’ colours are very popular; the inspiration coming from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and then blending old and new pieces to create a warm and cozy, warm ambience.
That said, boho means eclectic, not chaotic. Stick to the ‘rule of 3’ base colors and then choose and mix of accessories that reflect and compliment those colors. If you are thinking of giving a boho makeover to your home, then read on.

Choosing the right bed and headboard is crucial when it comes to creating a bohemian-inspired bedroom. There is no doubt that the bed is the center of the room, and the headboard sets the mood for the entire space. So we've come up with this comprehensive guide to help you find the perfect boho bed frame and/ or headboard bedroom combination.
Furniture has been made from rattan for centuries. Known for its durability and flexibility, it grows abundantly in tropical climates. Boho-inspired furniture, such as beds and headboards, are often made from rattan because of its unique properties.
The natural, organic look of rattan is one of its main attractions. As well as adding warmth and coziness to a space, it also adds a touch of nature. Being a natural material, it's also very eco-friendly.
Creating a bohemian-inspired bedroom is easy with rattan headboards. Simple and minimalistic to intricately detailed weaves or plaits, they come in a variety of styles. They can also be customized to fit your personal style.
Rattan is also an excellent choice for bed frames. Because it's lightweight and sturdy, you can easily move it around if you want to rearrange your room. In addition, rattan creates a warm and cosy atmosphere in your bedroom because of its natural look.
A wooden bed frame is an obvious choice for a sturdy frame. It's strong and durable and so can carry a lot of weight. As a result of its versatility and adaptability to various designs, wood is an excellent choice for headboards.
It’s completely your choice as to the sort of finish you choose; staining, painting, or keeping it natural all look great.
Bohemian-inspired bedrooms often feature wooden headboards. There are many different designs available from simple and minimalist to intricate and detailed. Wood from reclaimed sources, wood that is carved and wood that has been painted all work well . The natural properties of wood also make it an eco-friendly choice.
Just like sugar and spice, rattan and wood combine beautifully to create the perfect boho bedroom. A warm, inviting and functional atmosphere can be created by the combination of these two materials.
Urban Outfitters
On Urban Outfitters' website, you can find a variety of boho-inspired bed frames and headboards. There are several examples of platform beds available, such as the Riley Linen Platform Bed, the Bohemian Platform Bed, the Ivy Bed, and the Mabelle Boho Platform Bed. [2,3]. Wood and wicker are often used in these beds, along with rattan and wicker weaves. Other storage options are also available with some beds. You can also choose from a variety of colors and sizes on the website.
Etsy
Etsy is an Internet marketplace where handmade, vintage, and unique items can be bought and sold. Headboards are among the products available on the website.

Your best bet if you're looking for a lower price point is Target.
Bohemian or boho-inspired bedrooms can benefit from Target's headboard selection. It appears that the website offers headboards for sale in different styles, including open-frame and mid-century designs. Click here to see their designs.
Wayfair
There are many styles, colors, and sizes of boho beds available on Wayfair. Modern and mid-century modern are popular styles among customers. Approximately 55% and 35% of customers choose king and queen sizes, respectively. A variety of brands are available at Wayfair, such as Novogratz, Etta Avenue, Bungalow Rose, Kelly Clarkson Home, and Mistana. Several companies offer free shipping, with prices ranging from around $173.99 to over $6,431.99.
When it comes to boho beds, various styles and designs are available at Urban Outfitters. [1] Among such beds is the Bohemian Platform Bed, made from sustainable mango wood with a slatted platform and turned legs. You can choose between a natural or white finish for the bed. [2] Riley Linen Platform Beds are another option, available in three colors. [2] DIY is also an option; one couple made a similar minimalistic bed for $400 instead of $1200 from Urban Outfitters' Marte Platform Bed. [3].
A boho daybed with a pop-up bed is available on Overstock [3]. The pop-up bed can be stored under the bed or used as an additional twin bed. Available in three finishes, the clean lines of this bed make it an attractive option. Overstock also sells a retro metal bed that looks similar to a vintage-inspired bed from Anthropologie but is much less expensive, costing well under $500.
Reddit Threads
There is a thread on reddit.com in the subreddit r/HomeDecorating in which a user asks what type of bed they should buy to match a certain rattan headboard. This user is starting from scratch to decorate their bedroom and is open to any suggestions.
[1] is a thread on the Reddit's Home Decorating subreddit on what color bed sheets should be mixed and matched with a duvet cover. According to the site, Bed Threads allows mixing and matching of colors of their linen bedding.
[2] is a thread on Reddit's Furniture subreddit in which a user is looking for websites that offer modern bohemian furnishings, including a bed. They mention that Wayfair is sold out of their favorite bed and that Urban Outfitters doesn't carry it in their size (full).
[3] is an article on HomeDIT that provides ideas for bohemian bedroom decor, including low-level seating options like floor cushions and bean bag chairs, and lighting options such as string lights and lanterns.
Wood, rattan, wicker, or metal are all ideal materials for boho beds and headboards. Adding layers of texture and mixing different materials can help you achieve a boho aesthetic. The boho-style bedroom can be furnished with a wood and rattan bed, or with any simple metal bed frame and then layered with different textures of pillows and bedding. Adding pops of color to neutral bedding adds to the boho effect. Cushions and throws, as well as a tapestry as a headboard for visual interest are easy ways to achieve this. You can further enhance your boho inspired room with bamboo pendant lights, rattan wall hangings, triangular cushions, boho floor lamps, boho wall sconces and boho table lamps.

If you're a fan of the boho chic interior trend, or if you're thinking about creating an eclectic kind of bedroom for yourself or for a family member, then this is the video for you. We all know that the bedrooms main focal point is usually the bed so today I'm going to be sharing some of my very favourite Oh inspired beds, headboards and daybeds. Some of my all time favourite boho style beds come from Urban Outfitters.
So we'll start there. The Marty platform bed is a really popular option and it's got rave reviews. The minimal rubber wood frame features a really pretty return inset headboard. If you're someone that bunks their shins on the corner of your bed on a daily basis then you will really appreciate the rounded corners on this lovely bed. The Martini has a slatted base so that means you don't need a boxspring with this bed.
One thing to be aware of is that this bed only comes in queen size at the moment and it's also been having unusually long delivery times. However according to the reviews, it is well worth the weight also side note but look at the lounge chair from the same collection if you don't find the bed by the chair.
Also side side note the design of this chair was heavily heavily inspired by an original 1970s chair designed by John bow calm pronunciation not sure but if you want the originals, a pair of these chairs will cost you $35,000 The rear bed is unlike anything I've ever seen on the market today. It's made out of return and mahogany and it definitely has a very 70s inspired look. It's low to the ground and it features a loop to pretend construction with a graphic linear design.
If you're looking for a bed that's a true focal point. The rear bed is the one for you. This bed is part of an exclusive Urban Outfitters collection called the real collection so if you don't want the bed or need the bed but you like this look then definitely check out the other pieces in the collection like the dresser nightstands and the room divider and the bookshelf.
The Canoga bed is another curvy return option, but it's a completely different style to the previous one that we just looked at. While the rear bed is a lower platform bed without a footboard the Canoga bed is raised up on four legs and has both a headboard and the footboard. A couple of other really nice Urban Outfitters beds are the Bohemian platform bed and the Amelia platform bed.
They're both carved out of sustainable mango wood and designed without a headboard. They both have slatted bases and they come in white and natural actually the Bohemian platform bed comes in black as well. The HANA platform bed from Lulu and Georgia has a really airy and relaxed look to it. Yet at the same time, it also manages to look super luxurious.
This film was also made out of mango wood, and the cane headboard and low footboard really help add gorgeous textural appeal to any room using a boxspring is optional on this one. Although reviewers say that the bed actually looks much better without it. If you somehow landed on this video, then chances are you're probably a fan of the boho interior trend.
So if you're looking for more inspiration or ideas and be sure to go and check my other video, which is how to decorate boho style, I'll link that video for you somewhere here on the screen and down below. Okay, are we still awake? Good because I love this next bed.
It's a wood spindle bed and it's actually sold by a bunch of different retailers and they all call it something different. Amazon calls it the Queen modern wood spindle bed. Walmart calls it the desert fields Mid Century Modern solid wood Queen platform bed. World Market calls it the pine wood spindle Archer bed.
Target calls it the Queen Aurora, Boho solid wood spindle bed. And all modern calls it the Dorinda solid wood bed. See same thing different name, the price difference is negligible between the different retailers but I will say that all modern and target actually have the most colour variations on this bed.
So if that's something that's important to you, then maybe check them out first. The design of this bed is airy and simple but also really elegant. I love it because it's so versatile. I think it's just one of those designs that would pair well with just about anything from Boho to modern farmhouse to mid century.
I also love that it's solid pine and also just like all the other beds we've looked at so far it's slotted so no box spring required. Does anyone use box springs anymore common to be used the box if you're looking for another really versatile option stylized and definitely check out the drama in bed from CB two. It's made out of solid sustainable acacia wood with Angular legs that intersect a low profile platform frame. The open back is complemented by an ivory upholstered headboard.
And speaking of headboards, let's talk about them for a second. Remember, you can always just buy a headboard on its own without having to buy an entirely new bed frame. This can be a really cost effective option. A new headboard can have Have a really transformational effect on the overall look of your room some great boho headboards that I would recommend our queen answer woven return headboard from Target. This one is actually from the jungalow opalhouse collab that was recently released at Target. The Queen minsmere Kane headboard also from Target

and the Sumatra headboard which is sold by a small Turkish shop on Etsy and I also have a few favourite boho style day beds as well. day beds are great for smaller spaces or for teenagers group.
I loved having a day bed as teenager since I was like basically 24/7 In my room hanging out with my friends. So some of my favourite boho day beds are the Calico return day bed from Urban Outfitters. The honey return de bed from World Market the bone natural day bed from CB two and the carved lovella de bed from anthropology.
So if you didn't like any of these options, I'm very sorry but I do have a bunch more on my website posh Penney's dot com I'll leave a link to the blog post in the description below if you want to check that out.
But here's some tips to remember if you are shopping for beds that are meant to go into a boho style bedroom, low platform beds are an excellent option if you're looking to infuse your bedroom with cosy boho vibes being lowered to the ground definitely creates a more inviting feeling rather than being on a very high up mattress. wooden frames are great because of the warmth that wood can bring to a space, cane wicker and return are always very boho.
Can't go wrong there. A headboard isn't always necessary. But if you do want to headboard and probably stay away from anything like overly tufted unless maybe you're going for like a boho glam look. And lastly, day beds can be great if you're short on space, or if you're maybe trying to do a teens. Have you guys heard of this app called Instagram. It's pretty cool.
I'm on Instagram and I am moving in less than a month to a brand new house, which is going to need a lot of work. And there's going to be a lot of interaction happening in the very near future. A lot of it will not make it to this channel because of reasons. So if you want to follow along on my new host journey, then definitely definitely follow me on Instagram. I would love to see you there. So get on the gramme and I will see you next time. Thanks. Bye bye

The traditional Thai culture treats bamboo with smoke in order to preserve it from insects and preserve its quality. Using charcoal or wood, a fire is typically created and bamboo is placed over the smoke. This process is called "bamboo smoking". As soon as the bamboo has been soaked with smoke for several hours, it is removed from the smoke.
Bamboo is not only preserved by the smoke, but also gives off a distinct aroma and color. Most bamboo craftsmen in Thailand still smoke their bamboo products before selling them, and the traditional method of bamboo smoking is still practiced today in many rural areas.
Bamboo is a readily available resource in Thailand, which is one reason bamboo smoking is popular there. Bamboo is used for a variety of products, including baskets, mats, flooring, and even construction materials. Smoking bamboo preserves it and makes it more durable, which is especially important for outdoor products.
The process of bamboo smoking is relatively simple, but it does require some skill and experience. The fire must be kept at the right temperature to avoid burning the bamboo, and the bamboo must be turned frequently to ensure that it is exposed to the smoke evenly. The bamboo must also be left in the smoke for the right amount of time, which can vary depending on the type of bamboo and the desired color and aroma.
Bamboo smoking is not just a traditional practice, but it also has many benefits, such as preserving the bamboo, making it more durable, giving it a distinct color, and aroma, and making it more resistant to insects. It's also a sustainable practice as it doesn't require any chemical treatment, therefore it is an eco-friendly method. It's also a skill that passed down from generations to generations, and still being used today.
