Hallway pendant lights sized for narrow spaces

Every pendant shade in this collection names hallways, entryways, entrance halls, stairwells or foyers in its own product listing, and each design comes in at least one size that is 35 cm (14 in) across or less, a compact choice for a passage. Most shades are natural bamboo. JANTA, TAWAN, CHA YA NAN, DA MI SA and MON TA KAN are rattan, and CHA LA mixes bamboo and rattan. For a darker look, ARUNEE Black and BLACK CHA YA NAN have a black finish, PAT CHA RIN pairs natural bamboo with black accents, and DARA and KHE MI KA Small offer a black option.

Choosing hallway light fixtures by shape and size

Measure the width of the hall and the height from floor to ceiling, then compare them with the measurements on each product page. Where width is tight, slim shapes take up the least room: KHE MI KA Small is 7 cm (3 in) across and 20 cm (8 in) tall, PAT CHA RIN 12 cm (5 in) across and 35 cm (14 in) tall, and TI WAT 20 cm (8 in) across and 38 cm (15 in) tall. Compact shades such as NAT, IIA and CHET are 17 to 23 cm (7 to 9 in) across and roughly as tall as they are wide.

Several designs come in two or more sizes, so one style can carry from the hall into a bigger room. ANANDA runs from 18 cm (7 in) across in size S to 40 cm (16 in) in XL, and ARUNEE Black from 23 to 30 cm (9 to 12 in). Some shapes are tall rather than wide: JINTRANA is 48 cm (19 in) tall in both sizes and the PUNNA Large is 53 cm (21 in), so check your headroom first. Our small bamboo pendant lights gather more compact shades for bedsides and nooks.

Entryway and stairwell pendant lights

An entrance can take a little more width. DA MI SA spreads to 35 cm (14 in) across while standing only 20 cm (8 in) tall, RUNGSAN is 35 cm (14 in) wide, and PUNNA lists entryways and foyers. Over a stairwell, a few listings suggest grouping: BOONTA, CHA LA and PATTRANAN are described as working alone or grouped with other pendants over stairwells, and ARUNEE Black suggests combining its sizes for a layered display. TI WAT lists hallways and stairwells, while JINTRANA and LALARIN list entryways and stairwells. For the room beyond the hall, our dining room pendant lights carry larger shades.

What comes with each hallway pendant shade

Each pendant is sold as a shade with its hanging hardware. The pendant cord set and the bulb are not included, so pair the shade with a cord set from our lighting accessories or an existing ceiling fitting, and have a qualified electrician connect anything hardwired. Most shades list an E27 socket and some list E26 / E27, and the listings suggest a warm white LED or a vintage Edison style LED. Several care notes advise dusting with a soft dry cloth and keeping the shade away from long exposure to direct sun, rain or high humidity.

Each shade needs its own cord set and bulb, and a qualified electrician should fit any hardwired points.
