Boho, woven and Thai wall decor for every room

Our wall decor collection brings together handwoven pieces made by Thai artisans from rattan, bamboo, wicker, seagrass and dried palm leaf. This is Thai wall decor with real provenance: woven wall hangings, rattan wall art, bamboo wall plates, palm leaf fans and woven baskets that turn a bare wall into something textured and warm. The natural fibres suit living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, reading corners and the space above a sofa or bed, anywhere a flat painted wall needs depth.

Because it is genuine home decor from Thailand, each piece carries the small irregularities of hand-weaving rather than the flat sameness of a printed canvas. You will find large rattan wall decor for a big feature wall, smaller woven pieces for a gallery grouping, round wall fans, flat woven discs and sculptural baskets. Some pieces hang from a single hook; others are built for a cluster. Browse by material below, or read on for how to choose size, style and placement for your room.

The story behind the craft

Each piece is made by hand in Thailand from natural materials such as rattan, bamboo, seagrass, banana fibre and palm leaf. Because it is handcrafted, slight variations in size, texture and finish are part of its individual character, and they are the reason a handwoven wall hanging catches sidelight in a way a printed canvas never will.

Rattan and wicker wall baskets

Picture a wall of woven rattan discs catching low afternoon light, each shadow falling in a slightly different shape. Rattan and wicker pieces bring the deepest texture and the widest size range, from small discs for a gallery grouping to large rattan wall decor that anchors a whole feature wall above a sofa. They sit naturally in boho, coastal and Japandi rooms.

Bamboo wall plates and baskets

Bamboo brings a cleaner, more linear texture: round woven plates, open-weave baskets and handwoven fans in a warm golden tone. It works where you want texture without heaviness: a bedroom, a hallway, or a home office behind the desk, across a range of diameters.

Boho wall art and hangings

This is the layered, earthy end of the collection: woven wall hangings and mixed-fibre sets in bamboo, rattan, seagrass and banana fibre, made for boho wall decor in a living room or above a bed. Group three or five pieces at slightly uneven spacing for a gallery-wall feel.

Palm leaf fans

Dried palm leaf fans are the airiest option, light, pale and faintly translucent, reading almost like sculpture against a warm cream wall. A single large fan over a console, or a fan cluster climbing a stairwell, both work well.

Woven wall art

Flat woven discs and hand-woven wall art in seagrass and rattan give you clean circular shapes and a calm, repeating rhythm, the easiest way to add texture to a plain wall without crowding the rest of the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our woven wall decor is lightweight, so a small picture hook or nail is usually enough for each piece. Some sets, such as NUTWADEE, include anchors and nails for hanging, so check each product page for what comes with your set. For heavier rattan pieces, or for plasterboard walls, use a plasterboard fixing rated for at least 3 kg. Planning a grouping? Lay the pieces on the floor first and settle the arrangement before you make any holes. Vary the gaps a little, 8 to 15 cm looks more relaxed and gallery-like than dead-even spacing.

Handwoven wall decor sits most naturally in boho, coastal, Japandi, wabi-sabi and modern minimalist rooms, anywhere the warm, organic texture of natural fibre adds something a flat print cannot. Against off-white, warm cream or clay-toned walls, the weave catches sidelight beautifully. It also works over textured plaster, exposed brick and timber cladding, where the material of the wall echoes the material of the piece. Try to avoid busy patterned wallpaper, where the weave and the pattern compete for attention. A good rule of thumb: the wall decor should span roughly two-thirds the width of the furniture below it, whether that is a sofa, a bed or a console table.

For a single feature piece over a sofa or bed, aim for a width around two-thirds of the furniture below, a 200 cm sofa suits a 130 to 140 cm piece, or a grouping that covers that width. For a grouped arrangement, mix three sizes rather than repeating one: one large, one medium, and one or two small. Over a console or hallway sideboard, a piece 60 to 80 cm wide sits well. Small pieces under 40 cm look best in odd-numbered groups of three or five, on either side of a doorway, or worked into a gallery wall alongside framed art.

Dust natural-fibre wall decor gently every couple of months with a soft brush, a clean paintbrush, or a vacuum on its lowest setting with a soft brush attachment. Keep it out of damp rooms, steamy bathrooms or spots right beside kitchen steam, as moisture can warp the weave over time. If a piece hangs in direct sunlight for years, rattan and palm leaf will lighten a little; this is normal and part of its natural character. Spot-clean any marks with a barely damp cloth, and never soak a woven piece.

Not a problem. Every order comes with a 30-day return window, if a piece does not work in your space, message us to arrange a return. Return postage is paid by the customer, and the original shipping cost is deducted from the refund.
