OURS||||||| ANCESTOR
ThaiHome was born from a simple yet profound love – a love for the handmade, the meaningful, and the stories woven into every thread and fiber.
I'm Rain, and I grew up in Korat, in the heart of Essan, Thailand. My childhood was filled with the rhythm of artisan hands at work, the scent of natural materials drying in the sun, and the quiet pride of neighbors who created beauty from the simplest of resources. I watched weavers transform palm leaves into intricate patterns, saw skilled hands bend rattan into graceful curves, and learned that every handmade object carries within it the spirit of its maker.
As I grew older, I witnessed something that troubled me deeply. The artisans I admired – the basket weavers, the lamp makers, the craftspeople who held generations of knowledge in their fingertips – were struggling. Mass production was overshadowing their work. Young people were leaving their villages for cities, and ancient techniques were at risk of fading away.
I knew I had to do something.
ThaiHome became my answer. Not just a shop, but a bridge. A way to connect the incredible talent of Thai artisans with people around the world who appreciate authenticity, sustainability, and the irreplaceable value of handmade goods.
Every product you find at ThaiHome represents more than decor – it represents dignity, opportunity, and hope. When you purchase a rattan pendant light or a handwoven bag, you're directly supporting artisan families in rural Thailand. You're helping to preserve traditional crafts that have been passed down through generations. You're saying that quality, sustainability, and human connection matter more than convenience.
I work directly with local artisans and small workshops across Essan and beyond, ensuring fair compensation and celebrating their incredible skills. Many of the craftspeople I partner with are women supporting their families, elders keeping traditions alive, and young artisans choosing to stay in their communities rather than migrate to cities.
ThaiHome is built on a foundation of purpose over profit. We believe in:
When you bring a ThaiHome piece into your space, you're not just decorating. You're participating in a movement that values people over products, tradition over trends, and meaning over mass production.
You're welcoming a piece of Thailand's soul into your home.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
With gratitude,
Rain
