Water hyacinth handbags: NA MA, TANID, NONGPANEE and LARANEE

NA MA is a French market basket bag made from natural water hyacinth, listed for shopping trips, farmers markets and beach holidays. TANID is a top handle bag woven by skilled artisans from natural water hyacinth. NONGPANEE and LARANEE are small handmade bags made in Chiang Mai, both finished with pearl bead accents and lined with cotton; LARANEE is 15 cm (6 in) high, 20 cm (8 in) long and 10 cm (4 in) wide. The straw handbag strap is handwoven from natural water hyacinth and turns a handbag into a crossbody bag.

CHALAPON and ALEENA list an adjustable strap. To turn a handbag into a crossbody, the straw handbag strap is handwoven from natural water hyacinth, about 10 mm wide and adjustable from 115 to 120 cm, with silver hook clasps.

Are the bags handmade?

Yes, every bag is handmade in Thailand. Most listings describe them as handwoven or handcrafted, NONGPANEE and LARANEE are made in small batches in Chiang Mai, and SUMLAN MINI is handwoven by Thai artisans. Because each piece is made by hand, sizes may differ slightly, as the HATTAYA and NISAWARA pages note.

How long does delivery take, and can I return an item?

Standard shipping is free on orders over $35 (about £27 / €32), and delivery takes 2 to 10 business days. To return an item, contact us within 14 days of delivery and send it back within 30 days. Return postage is paid by the customer, and we do not offer exchanges.
