Rattan trays
The Wan Nee rattan tray is woven from natural rattan in two sizes, small at 17 by 11 cm (6 by 4 in) and large at 24 by 16 cm (9 by 6 in), or as a set of 2, and its listing suggests it for jewellery, coins and other small items. DAORUNG is a low, tray style rattan basket 1 cm (0.5 in) high and 15 cm (6 in) or 20 cm (8 in) across, also sold as a set of 2, for serving fruit, holding toiletries or styling a coffee table.
PIM LA DA is an oval rattan tray 21 by 14 cm (8 by 5 in), and KA MON PAN a round, flat rattan basket 33 cm (13 in) across and 2 cm high. For a tray with a little more depth, SI WI MON measures 20 by 12 cm (8 by 5 in), KA WI SA RA 15 by 15 cm (6 by 6 in), and LAN and JAN are larger rectangular rattan baskets of about 30 by 20 cm (12 by 8 in), each 5 cm (2 in) high.
Bamboo trays and serving baskets
BUABAN and SUWANNEE are wide, flat bamboo baskets 35 cm (14 in) across, and Isaline is a shallow round bamboo basket 22 cm (9 in) across; the BUABAN and Isaline listings suggest them for fruit and bread displays and table centrepieces. SANGTONG is a round bamboo basket 25 cm (10 in) across and 10 cm (4 in) high, KO RA CHAT measures 27 by 25 cm (11 by 10 in), and WANTANA is a bamboo bread basket 22 cm (9 in) or 27 cm (11 in) across. Woven wicker, rattan and seagrass baskets
Alongside the trays sit deeper Thai baskets. Navinda, JUNTRA and WA NA are round rattan baskets in two sizes, from 12 cm (5 in) to 25 cm (10 in) across, and TU VA NAN is an open curl rattan basket set of 2. MA YA VEE, ROM RA WIN, PUN DA and NI RA MAN are wicker baskets sold in sets of 2, each 15 cm (6 in) across and 17 cm (7 in) high, which the listings suggest for utensils, cutlery and napkins.
In seagrass, JI RA THEP is a rectangular basket 33 by 15 cm (13 by 6 in) and 20 cm (8 in) high, PASUB measures 32 by 20 cm (12 by 8 in) and PITCHA is 29 cm (11 in) across. The MON CHI DA fruit tray is 27 cm (11 in) wide and 6 cm (2.5 in) high, and RU JI RA DA is a small nypa stem basket for keys, coins or jewellery. Caring for a rattan or bamboo tray
Many of these listings say the trays and baskets are handwoven by artisans in Thailand, and because each one is made by hand, size, shape and colour can vary slightly from the photos. The TU VA NAN listing advises wiping clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth, and AMARA is marked hand wash.
