Not on their own. Individual shades come with their hanging hardware, and the plug-in cord set and bulb are sold separately. Add a plug-in pendant light kit from our lighting accessories and the shade becomes a plug in pendant light that runs from a wall outlet. Check each product page for what arrives with that shade, since some designs also include an adjustable metal bracket for positioning the bulb.
The white plug-in pendant light kit and the black kit with a 1.8 m cord each offer four plug options: US (Type A), UK (Type G), EU (Type C) and AU (Type I). Choose the one for the country where the light will be used when you order. The black kit with the longer 2.5 m cord is listed with a US (Type A) plug only.
The plug-in kit listings say no electrician and no hardwiring are needed: the kit plugs into a standard wall outlet and has an inline on and off switch. If you would rather wire a shade into a ceiling point, we also sell ceiling cord sets, and some of their listings recommend professional installation if you are unfamiliar with electrical wiring. The plug-in kits are listed for indoor use only.
The white kit and one black kit have a 1.8 m cord. A second black kit has a 2.5 m cord. Measure the route from your outlet to the ceiling point and down to the height where you want the shade to hang before you choose. Brass cable ties, sold six to a pack with screws and wall anchors, keep the cord tidy along a wall or ceiling.
The plug-in kits take one E26 or E27 bulb, which is not included, and most shades list an E27 socket. Product pages recommend a warm white LED bulb or a vintage Edison style LED bulb, and a lower wattage bulb for a softer glow. The warm light brings out the color of the bamboo or rattan and casts the woven pattern onto nearby walls.
